Inguinal Hernia Symptoms

Inguinal Hernia Symptoms: Not all people with an inguinal or groin hernia have symptoms. If one does develop
symptoms of an inguinal hernia, however, they generally include pain or discomfort
in the groin and a bulge. If the hernia becomes stuck (incarcerated), signs of
intestinal blockage can occur and include nausea, vomiting, and the inability to pass
wind or have a bowel movement. If the blood supply to the organ inside the hernia
is cut off (strangulated), severe pain and a body wide infection (sepsis) can develop
from the organ that is dying off. Both incarceration and strangulation are
considered emergencies.
