Umbilical Hernia Symptoms: Umbilical hernias can cause no symptoms, or present with pain and/or a bulge. Some can also result in fat or organs being stuck in the hernia (incarceration) which can also lead to the blood supply to the organ being cut off (strangulation).
Symptoms associated with these processes, which are emergencies, include nausea,
vomiting, inability to pass wind or bowel movements, as well as a very dangerous
body wide infection (sepsis).
